About Me

I hate to do about me pages... because it is not.

I am a person that wants to live transparently and allow God to be seen through me in my life and in my Worship Leading. So, I'll focus on my beliefs and vision for worship.

I have had many experiences with Worship (music) Ministry.  As a result, I hold to some core values.  My sole philosophy on worship is that God must receive all the Glory. That cannot be overstated because it is foundational for understanding why we are given the gift of worship. In my opinion, worship in a church setting should have: Responsiveness, Expectancy, Authenticity, Sacrifice, Excellence, and Biblical theology.

Vision

To see people in this generation become passionate for God through worship and to further their relationship with Him. To see people become active in their walk with Christ through service and obedience with worship that is responsive, expectant, authentic, sacrificial, excellent, and contains biblical theology.

Mission

To facilitate an environment where people of all backgrounds can worship and respond to what God is doing in their life.

Most of all I want to worship our astonishing God!  I believe that as we seek Him we will be able to do nothing less. We will fall on our face before Him as we encounter Him.  As Matt Redman stated, “When we face up to the glory of God, we find ourselves facedown in worship.”  It is my heart to help others to realize the glory of God, the only natural response then is worship.

David was known as a man after God’s own heart.  In Psalm 119:11 David says, “Your Word I have hidden in my heart.”  David was a true worshipper of the Lord.  Before all his subjects, his family, and his kingdom David danced, leaping and whirling for his King in worship, not caring what anybody would think or say.  Even when his own wife despised him in her heart, his worship was unquenchable.  It did not stop for anything or anybody.  David responded to his wife and saying, “Therefore I will play music before the Lord. And I will become even more undignified than this and will be humble in my own sight.”

Worship is something that I am passionate about and it hurts to see a generation of people suffering from self conscious, restrained, and even ashamed worship. The worship we often see today was not the worship that we see in David. His worship was undignified - our worship is only what “the crowd” will allow, which is dignified, reserved, and conformed. This needs to stop.

The goal of every ministry is to seek to worship Him and glorify Him. But, we see the truth about worship in a statement by John Piper. He said, “Missions exists because worship doesn’t.” He went on to talk about how God desires and deserves the praise of every tribe, tongue, and nation.  That is a heavy statement. But we see the root of the problem. We have become a generation that does not know what worship is.  We have a self-centered idea of worship. We need a God-centered response.
